As the General Manager you are a leader in all aspects of our space. Your role involves working closely with the executive team in strategic planning, setting and meeting operational standards, team management and ultimately driving performance across all areas of the business. You will lead by embodying The Altar values, helping define a company culture and setting exceptionally high standards for everyone involved.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the executive team to hire, mentor, and develop staff, providing training, direction, and performance assessments.
- Implement effective performance evaluations and recognition programs.
- Empower team members to take initiative in developing innovative ways to improve hospitality as well efficiency.
Strategic Planning:
- Drive studio performance, manage profit and loss (P&L), and collaborate regularly with the founders in making informed business decisions.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed business performance metrics.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and creativity.
Community and Culture:
- Build genuine connections with guests through personalized communication and meaningful connections.
- Foster a sense of belonging and community among team members prioritizing the ethos of truly enjoying work and our company's mission.
- Embrace and promote the values of The Altar, creating an environment where individuals can be their authentic selves.
Sales and Operations:
- Conduct daily walk-through inspections to ensure the premises are clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Monitor budgets, forecast revenue and expenses, and manage schedules, supplies, payroll, and merchandise inventory.
- Set, manage and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met, exceeding budgetary goals. Work with respective departments to reach their individual targets.
- Implement effective sales strategies to boost revenue. This may include focusing on direct bookings, offering promotions, and developing specialty programming. Actively work on increasing memberships through targeted marketing and personalized outreach.
Guest and Membership Experience:
- Analyze guest satisfaction scores (reviews such as Google and Yelp), key data metrics and implement improvements to enhance the overall guest experience and retention.
- Personalize each guest's experience by remembering their preferences and celebrating special occasions uniquely.
- Approach guest requests with a how can we make this happen attitude, aiming to fulfill even the most unique requests.
- Develop and implement membership programs that offer exclusive benefits, events, and experiences to drive loyalty and increase revenue. Regularly review and update these programs to ensure they remain attractive and unique to members.
REQUIREMENTS
- Availability on-site and in person for non-traditional hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 8 hours shift / 5x week.
- 2 to 5 years of wellness, fitness or hospitality management or relevant related experience (retail, food/beverage, etc.).
- Proven track record of success in a performance driven work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality or Management is preferable.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification required.
- Passion for hospitality and customer service.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills, empathy, emotional intelligence, leadership and adaptability.
- Positive attitude, autonomy, attentive, accountable, detail-oriented, motivated, and punctual.
- Open-minded and excited to learn The Altar's method and continue professional development and education.
- Wellness enthusiast and user of our modalities, such as sauna, ice bath, breathwork, mindfulness and IVs.
- Able to work on your feet for 8 hours, able to move, pull, carry or lift 50 pounds, Must be able to kneel, bend, reach, climb and stand for long durations of time and work in an environment with large temperature variations.
COMPENSATION
$70,000 year + bonus/commission
