OVERVIEW

The General Manager will lead and execute strategic plans to drive profitable growth of Evolution Frame product lines. Responsible for P&L and leading sales, customer service, product management, and operations teams. Collaborates with Marketing and other departments to align on key initiatives. Reporting to the President, Fortified Brands, this role shapes current and long-term company goals. Ideal candidates have a strong sales and marketing background in building products and proven success coaching diverse teams to grow sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Overall

  • Drive strategic planning and profitable growth; lead operations and sales to execute plans
  • Oversee Marketing, Product, Sales, Inside Sales, and Customer Service teams
  • Build, mentor, and evaluate high-performing teams; identify talent needs and lead recruitment
  • Recommend and implement structural improvements; streamline processes and controls to support growth
  • Align cross-functional (domestic and international) strategies and manage budget to meet targets
  • Support long-term goals, company-wide planning, and foster a customer-first culture focused on service

Product Management

  • Monitor product line performance; adjust for ROI and viability
  • Lead new/enhanced product development and launches
  • Align pricing with cost and market to maximize margin
  • Oversee testing for safety, compliance, and risk mitigation
  • Partner with Supply Chain to forecast, order, and manage inventory
  • Use ERP and improve inventory processes
  • Set KPIs to track performance and accountability
  • Drive inventory reduction and balance for customer and financial gains

Manufacturing

  • Bridge communication between end-user needs and Manufacturing.
  • Support product improvements by researching market demands and identifying opportunities.
  • Share product specs and updates with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
  • Help identify and develop quality control procedures.
  • Occasionally travel to China for factory visits, product development, and manufacturing support.

Sales Management

  • Design, implement and manage an organizational structure of the business unit's sales team that will assure profitable growth and the accomplishment of our annual sales plan.
  • Lead the sales team to maximize gross margin dollars through a strategic pricing and sales strategy.
  • Create promotional, market based or product-based opportunities to spur off-season sales.
  • Maximize two-step, one-step, retail, international and OEM distribution opportunities.
  • Create and execute a plan to successfully launch new products.
  • Expand international distribution opportunities.
  • Achieve a very high, year-over-year growth percentage.

Marketing

  • Manage the marketing, branding and product image needs with the selected Marketing resource.
  • Lead the trade show process.
  • Identify and evaluate advertising and promotional opportunities in print, web, new media, etc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This role leads and manages teams, sets goals, assigns work, coaches, evaluates performance, and addresses employee relations. The GM drives accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement across all areas.

Education/Experience/Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required, master's degree or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of applied professional experience in sales management
  • At least 5 years of applied professional experience in sales and marketing of building products
  • At least 2 years of applied professional experience leading managers
  • P&L management experience
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent interpersonal and customer interfacing abilities
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • A forward-thinker with a solid understanding of how to formulate short and long-term business strategies
  • An ability to create, understand and analyze sales performance metrics
  • Travel requirements will vary and may include both domestic and international trips, depending on business demands.
