Job Summary We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our Operations & Maintenance team. This is a multi-craft position requiring hands-on expertise in general building and equipment maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC support. Working as part of a self-directed team, you will ensure facilities and equipment remain in safe, reliable, and efficient condition while following company and industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, building repairs, painting, and minor alterations.
- Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures, restrooms, interior/exterior doors, locks, and office furniture.
- Inspect and maintain electrical lighting, HVAC systems, generators, and fire protection systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on dock doors and dock levelers.
- Assist with installation, inspection, and servicing of new equipment and workstations.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, and diagnostic instruments.
- Complete work orders and inspections using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Respond to customer service requests promptly while ensuring compliance with safety codes and industry standards.
- Support facility projects, renovations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow safety protocols, including job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and PPE usage.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of experience in commercial/warehouse facility maintenance, with hands-on skills in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- 1+ year of experience maintaining dock doors/dock equipment.
- Ability to work at heights up to 30+ feet using aerial or scissor lifts.
- Strong troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer systems.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Driver's License (may be required).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security access badge.
- Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends, alternative schedules, or extended hours as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk extensively, climb ladders, kneel, bend, squat, and work in tight spaces.
- Ability to lift and move light to medium weight materials.
- Color vision required for wire identification.
