General HelperAssist shop personnel with a variety of support tasks thatare based on department placement. The following describes in general terms thepurpose and scope of the position. Job Summary

• Loads & unloads materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, or trucks.
• Transport equipment or materials to various designated work areas for processing.
• Load trash bins and compactors
• Fill propane bottles.
• Change out on equipment.
• Operate hand tools and handling equipment when instructed.
• Read work instructions necessary to assist in operational process.
• Move materials and supplies for department personnel.
• Assist with housekeeping and cleanup operations.
• Provide support to shop personnel where needed.
• Perform light mechanical assembly.
• Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned including participation in project committees
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple directions, traveler or work instructions, MSD.
• Sheets, part numbers.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Critical thinking skills and good decision making thought processes.
• Understanding and application of directions provided by lead/supervisor/manager.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Required Experience and Education

• Must have H.S. Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
