The Gasoline Trader will be a member of a dynamic Global Middle Distillates and Gasoline Oil Team based in Houston and will be responsible for the development and promotion of gasoline and gasoline components trading, interacting with companies involved in refining, distribution, transportation, storage, blending, and sale of hydrocarbons.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, negotiate, and conclude clean oil products trades (Gasoline or Gasoline components) in line with the company's global strategy.
  • Focus on the US and Latam markets, with knowledge of market flows affecting those regions.
  • Analyze the market and build strategies in physical and/or paper trading to maximize P&L.
  • Develop and maintain business relations with key counterparties such as producers, refiners, traders, and end-users to stay abreast of market developments and opportunities.
  • Participate actively in team P&L/value generation, with knowledge of price and pricing concepts & structure.
  • Provide accurate information to management and key personnel to facilitate decision-making and strategic goals.
  • Design and assist in designing hedge strategies for physical positions.
  • Communicate with traders and refinery personnel, particularly in Latam.
  • Assess customers' credit terms, negotiate payment terms, title transfers, and key contract items to close deals.
  • Perform all activities in compliance with company standards, external regulations, and internal controls.
  • Develop remote (phone) business relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in petroleum products trading, preferably Gasoline trading.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Understanding of flows and activities of relevant refiners and traders.
  • Strong risk management skills and understanding of exposure and contract optimization.
  • Good knowledge of US markets, especially New York and Gulf Coast; knowledge of European, Latin American, and WAF markets is a plus.
  • Knowledge of storage management facilities and worldwide refinery production.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and energy applications like Bloomberg or Reuters.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, under pressure, and take initiative.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, organization, and attention to detail skills.
  • Profit-oriented mindset.
