Job Description :

The Communications Office within Student Success is seeking an experienced student graphic designer, photographer, and videographer to work on a wide array of projects that will highlight and strengthen programs and services for students. This includes designing promotional materials (social media graphics, digital flyers, newsletter images, etc.) for events and initiatives, taking photos during programs, creating video montages, and storytelling of the student experience. This role will have the opportunity to see designs and projects through from conception to final production, expand their portfolio, and work in a professional environment that seeks to improve the educational experience of all New School students.

Applicants should anticipate working 5-10 hours per week during the academic year from approximately September 2023 to May 2024. Payment is $19/hour through their Federal Work Study award. This position is predominantly in-person in Fanton Hall (72 5th Ave, New York, NY 10011), with some meetings over virtual video calls.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Design graphics for projects including but limited to brand identity, posters, event graphics, and much more.

* Creating engaging and creative social media video and photo content

* Script writing, filming, and editing high-quality video to be used on various platforms

* Take high-quality photos and videos that highlight, recap, and promote various endeavors and events

* Be involved and participate in team discussions about campaigns and strategies

WORK MODE

Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.

SALARY RANGE

Pay rate: $19/hour
