OVERVIEW: Hours: Monday - Friday, 12:00 - 5:00 pm. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the work of the development and marketing department. It also provides executive level support to Executive Director and Board of Directors as detailed belowESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EXAMPLES OF DUTIESDevelopment Support:Generate letters of acknowledgement and other correspondence regularlyWork in collaboration with Development/Marketing team to execute donor communications, webpages, emails, social media, online and direct mail fundraising appeals. Act as lead for email and mailing list preparation, management, monitoring, and data analysis.Ensuring that postal accounts are maintained appropriately for bulk mailingsAssisting in managing sponsorships and donor accountsAssisting with preparation of Annual Report and Annual CampaignOther duties and projects as assignedSpecial Events:Provide key staff support to fundraising efforts, including: Fashion Week of Rochester, annual spring gala, program-focused fundraising events and more.Attendance at special events as required and represent organization at external community fundraising eventsBoard of Directors support:Assisting Executive Director with planning Executive Committee, Full Board Meetings and other committee meetings as assigned, including scheduling, development and distribution of agendas, preparing supporting documents, distributing reminders, meeting set-up including ordering food and supplies, and attending meetings to record minutesOther: Serve as occasional back-up for receptionistCULTURAL COMPETENCY:The Center delivers programs and services to youth and families across Monroe County who represent many racial, cultural and geographic groups. The Center ensures understanding and values differences in people of diverse cultures, ethnic origins, sexual orientations, disabilities and beliefs. All staff are required to attend cultural competency workshops and trainings and to continually enhance their own understanding of cultural diversity. The Center Performance Appraisal, administered annually, provides an opportunity for staff to evaluate how they are integrating culturally competent practices into everyday work.EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES:Strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy and the ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks, be flexible and meet deadlines with little supervisionThe individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.The individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality.The individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Candidates must be able to operate a computer and peripherals several hours per day.QUALIFICATIONS:Associates Degree in Business, Communications, or related degree and a minimum of 3 years of related executive level support required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Experience with donor databases is preferred.COMPUTER SKILLS RECOMMENDED:Windows 11 - AdvancedMicrosoft Office 365 - AdvancedCanva - AdvancedAdobe - Intermediate to AdvancedFamiliarity with mass emailing platforms and social media platforms such as: LinkedIn and Meta Business SuiteThe Center for youth is an equal opportunity employer
