The Nursing Assistant is a non-professional employee who, under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, assists the professional medical staff in providing quality care for the treatment of patients. Responsibilities 1. Provides care that is consistent with the philosophy and goals of the Nursing Department and patient care unit. 2. Assists and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer and discharge procedure to/from OR/ RR, PACU 3. Effectively provides AM/ PM care to patients who need assistance. 4. Provides routine treatment procedures effectively. 5. Provides general nursing care as delegated by professional staff. 6. Orients patients to room and surroundings. 7. Assists patients with pre/postoperative preparation. 8. Measures and records temperature, pulse, height, weight and respiration. 9. Assists in application of traction 10.
