SUMMARY

The Associate Therapist provides patient screening, orientation, case management, and basic crisis response. The Associate Addiction Therapist will also perform additional tasks as permitted by OASAS Scope of Practice which may include Intake, Group facilitation, psych education, referrals, care coordination, reporting and record keeping.

ATTRIBUTES

  • High School Diploma, GED, Associates Degree, or Bachelors Degree required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a chemical dependency setting required

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Screening of clients presenting for admission to substance use disorder programs.
  • Intake and orientation
  • Case management, referrals, care coordination and connection to community providers and services
  • Provides basic crisis responses and client support pre and post admission
  • Group facilitation as permitted under the required OASAS Scope of Practice supervision and oversight
  • Provides psychiatric and addiction education
  • Responsible for reporting and record keeping required for programs and outside stakeholders (OASAS, legal, county, grants etc.)
  • Makes collateral calls, obtaining consents
  • Engaging clients during intake and pre-admission via telephonic, video and in person methods.
  • Preparing and obtaining toxicology screens (observing)
  • Participates as a contributing member of an interdisciplinary team in coordination and delivery of patient care.

S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
