FULL time ABA/ RBT Needed for Preschool Program in Old Tappan, NJ
INVO is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work within our preschool program. The RBT will provide support and direct instruction to preschool-aged students under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The primary focus will be implementing individualized behavior intervention plans, facilitating skill acquisition, and promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Carry out BIPs created by the BCBA to support student learning and behavior improvement.
- Skill Development: Work with students on skill acquisition, including communication, social skills, self-help, and adaptive skills.
- Data Collection: Record and track data on student progress and behaviors to aid in ongoing assessments and program adjustments.
- Direct Instruction: Engage in one-on-one and small group instruction with students to promote skill acquisition and behavior support.
- Communication: Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure consistency in interventions and reinforce positive behaviors at home and in school.
- Safety and Support: Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, helping students to navigate classroom routines and expectations.
- Professional Development: Participate in training and workshops to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in behavior analysis and early childhood education.
Qualifications:
- Current RBT certification
- Experience working with preschool-aged children, particularly in special education or behavior intervention settings
- Understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a passion for working with young children
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- BA/BS degree in education, psychology, or a related field such as Applied Behavioral Analysis, Behavioral Sciences, Child Development, Child Psychology or Social Work from an accredited institute of higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a school or early childhood education setting
- Knowledge of data collection software or techniques
- Basic understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs)
