Job Description Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Digital Platforms Location: Smithfield, RI - Hybrid (Onsite every other week; remote otherwise) Pay Rate: $72hour W2 Employment Type: 13-Month W2 Contract | 40 hours/week Introduction We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in Java and modern cloud application debugging to support our digital transformation journey. In this hybrid role, you will be a key contributor on an agile scrum team dedicated to building a future state benefits eligibility platform aimed at enhancing the digital experience for millions of customers. • First-Tier (Must-Haves):
  • Proven 24/7 production on-call availability (some weekends; must be reachable for remote support during off-hours)
  • Strong development expertise in Java using the Spring Boot framework
  • Working knowledge of modern front-end troubleshooting with Angular (for debugging purposes)
  • Hands-on experience with containerized cloud applications
• Second-Tier (Important):
  • Familiarity with monitoring & alerting tools such as Splunk and Datadog
  • Solid SQL and database skills with Oracle PL/SQL
  • Debugging experience with cloud applications, including container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes)
• Third-Tier (Additional Experience):
  • Experience with ETL platforms such as Informatica or SnapLogic
  • Exposure to .NET technologies
  • Knowledge of Control-M or similar job schedulers

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Open mindset to support and collaborate across multiple disciplines
• Experience working with relational databases (RDBMS), plus familiarity with DB2 and Sybase queries
• Full Stack Engineering experience is a plus

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide production support with robust on-call availability, ensuring rapid resolution of critical issues
• Develop and maintain Java Spring Boot applications, with occasional support for legacy (.NET) systems
• Troubleshoot and debug containerized cloud applications and related integrations
• Utilize monitoring tools (Splunk/Datadog) to check application health and proactively address performance issues
• Manage and troubleshoot ETL processes using Informatica/SnapLogic to maintain efficient data pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams (product, architecture, and engineering) to re-architect legacy systems for cloud deployment
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and release management to ensure high-quality, timely software deployments
• Support API testing and automation initiatives using tools such as Postman or similar
