Full Stack Engineer - Drum Associates : Job Details

A leading sports media client is expanding their real-time player tracking infrastructure from the one of their leagues to another. This project involves adapting and scaling existing systems to support the new league data, using live streaming tech and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Work as a part of software development team to contribute to current product development projects involving data and basketball statistics.
• Develop high-throughput, low-latency data processing systems to ingest, process and deliver data
• Integrate data processing infrastructure with other data/software systems.
• Contribute to data science infrastructure that generates insights from player tracking data.
• Contribute to full stack cloud-based development projects that help to build the NBA's next generation of automated officiating initiatives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are comfortable discussing complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Extensive software development experience in the following programming languages: Python, React, C++, Go, Java, C#, SQL
• Demonstrated experience building production systems for high-throughput, low-latency data processing.
• Experience or strong understanding of Kubernetes' core components is a plus.
• Experience building the infrastructure to deploy AI/ML models at scale within a consumer-facing application.
• Ability to design and implement maintainable APIs. Previous experience in building API platforms or products for developers.
• Committed to write clean code with proper unit test coverage.
• Experience building hybrid cloud/on-prem software systems is a plus.
• Experience with the infrastructure required to deploy ML applications based on computer vision is a plus.
• Experience with data science, statistical analysis, data wrangling, and/or data processing is a plus.
• Experience with API management/ gateway tools like Apigee, Kong, Gravitee or equivalent with the knowledge of API mashups, analytics, developer networks and security is a plus.
• Strong understanding of NBA basketball and NBA statistics is a plus.
• Display an aptitude for taking initiative to go above and beyond.
• You are comfortable working on a new product under fluid conditions, seamlessly balancing tactical and strategic considerations.
• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.

Requirements

• 3–4+ years backend engineering experience
• Proficiency in Python, React, Java, C++, Go , and/o r SQL
• AWS experience
• Ability to ramp up quickly and work independently on a short-term timeline
