About The Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Full Stack BI Specialist to join us. WMATA is seeking two (2) BI Specialists to facilitate the re-platforming of our current Data Warehouse to Oracle FDIP, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance. This resource will also assist as a Data Conversion Specialist, responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from PeopleSoft into our Data Warehouse system, and rebuilding data warehouse structures and reports in the FDIP system. They will ensure that data and reports are accurately migrated and optimized for reporting and analytics, collaborating with various teams to achieve project goals.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Create data mapping documents outlining relationships between source and target data fields.
  • Design and implement ETL processes for data loading into the Data Warehouse, ensuring performance and data integrity.
  • Utilize ETL tools for data integration.
  • Validate data accuracy and completeness post-migration.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Analyze requirements for BI reports and dashboards.
  • Analyze data sources for mapping to BI requirements.
  • Work with customers to determine the best approach for user community needs.
  • Use BI tools to develop reports, dashboards, and widgets; create and execute test plans.
  • Coordinate lifecycle activities from development to production.
  • Create and maintain data models to support requirements.
  • Determine the best approach for data delivery based on sources and requirements.
  • Develop spreadsheets and databases to support data strategies.
  • Gather and analyze BI data requirements from users/customers.
  • Create ETL/ELT processes for PeopleSoft EPM Data Warehouse.
  • Maintain ERP data warehouse and environments like Ascential/Datastage.
  • Design and develop data models and data mart tables.
  • Develop ETL processes and data pipelines using DataStage.
  • Support and maintain production ETL processes and jobs.
  • Handle ad hoc data requests using SQL and Excel, ensuring data validation and accuracy.
  • Assist other BI team members in report and dashboard development.
  • Document specifications and create user guides.
  • Support cybersecurity reviews and implement remediations.
  • Qualifications

    Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Business, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field. Minimum 8 years of technical application operations and maintenance experience in a large organization.

    Additional Requirements
    • Experience in data migration projects, especially from PeopleSoft to Cloud Data Warehouses.
    • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
    • Experience with ETL tools and data integration.
    • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and reporting tools.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail.
    • Experience with IBM DataStage and customizing PeopleSoft maps.
    • Six months of experience with DataStage.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    Preferred Skills
    • Experience with cloud Data Warehouse platforms (Oracle FDIP, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
    • Relevant certifications in data management or ETL tools.
    • Experience with systems like Maximo, PeopleSoft FSCM, ELM, PeopleSoft EPM, NextFare, Trapeze.
    • 3+ years building ETL maps/sequences with IBM DataStage.
    • Understanding of Data Warehouse principles and transit industry experience.
