Frontend Shopify Developer - Red Krypton : Job Details

Job Description:

Red Krypton is looking for a skilled Shopify developer with 6-8 years of demonstrated experience, to lead front-end development across our portfolio of early-stage startups. As the lead front-end developer, you will be responsible for building custom themes or modifying existing themes (based on project scope) and have a direct impact on high caliber, DTC sites. You will work alongside a team of experts, including strategists, project managers, UX designers and full stack developers. We're looking for a team player that is positive, solutions-driven, loves supporting their colleagues and has a hunger for continual improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Be a contributing member within the overall Shopify development team
• Working with UX and designers to produce design-forward, responsive and scalable front-end experiences
• Building out custom Shopify themes and functionality, leveraging pre-existing themes depending on scope of the project
• Ability to move between client projects, understand business needs that drive features
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Building efficient, testable and reusable code
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement by learning, applying and educating team on best practices for Shopify
• Contributing to code documentation and development workflows
• Building custom Shopify themes and customizing existing themes across a large number of client sites
• Collaborating with the UX and UI design teams to build robust and innovative front-end user experiences
• Working closely with project managers to address client needs
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously, and address hot fixes in a timely manner
• Marketing analytics implementation

Qualifications:

• 6-8 years of Shopify development experience, building themes from scratch and working with existing themes
• Expert level knowledge of javascript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Experience with frameworks including SASS and Tailwind
• 4 years experience with RestAPI and Shopify theme SDK
• Experience with 3rd party integrations (i.e. Klaviyo, Zendesk, Gorgias, Attentive)
• Experience working with Segment.io, Mixpanel and Google Analytics
• Experience with VueJS, Webpack, Gatsby a plus
• Capable of learning new technologies and platforms quickly and able to apply them to solve complex problems
• Experience working with source/version control platforms (Git) and Shopify CLI
• Familiarity with and adherence to web standards and best practices for performance and accessibility (WCAG)
• Experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong communication skills (both in person and in writing) while interacting with individuals with a range of technical understanding
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• A portfolio showcasing your Shopify development work

Role Details:

• Contract Position (no agencies)
• 20+ hours per week to start
• Initial 3-month engagement
• Remote - United States or Canada only (Time Zone: EST)
