Job Description :

Frontend Engineer – Joining the Figma for the science industry

$20+M Series A Backed A16Z + GC

NYC Hybrid

A missiond riven start-up with humility, work life balance, great compensation + equity

Want to work for a business in which you can say you are actively contributing to saving lives via drug discovery? A business that has the potential to be the chatGPT tool for the science world? Then read on...

We're partnering with a pioneering AI x Biotech startup that's reimagining how scientists design and test drug compounds. Backed by A16Z, General Catalyst, and a recently closed over $25M Series A, they're growing their core team—and looking for a product-minded Frontend Engineer to help shape the future of drug discovery.

🚀 About the Company

Drug discovery is broken. It takes 3–4 years, costs billions, and the success rate is shockingly low. This company is solving that by giving chemists a real-time, design-first platform to explore and iterate on compounds—like Figma, but for science.

Instead of waiting 6+ weeks per compound iteration, chemists can now instantly see how changes to a molecule affect toxicity, drug-likeness, absorption, and more—using AI models trained on live customer data. The result? Faster insights, better decisions, and a leap forward in how drugs get discovered.

💻 About the Role – Frontend Product Engineer

This is a high-ownership role for someone who loves building complex, design-led products that truly impact the world. You'll join a team of thoughtful engineers (ex-Google, Meta, Palantir) and scientists to lead all things frontend.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve the frontend architecture using React, TypeScript, and Next.js
  • Build complex stateful UIs that allow chemists to visualize, edit, and collaborate on molecular structures in real-time
  • Develop collaboration features (multi-user editing, molecule comparison tools, etc.)
  • Help create a beautiful and intuitive user experience—think Figma-level polish
  • Work closely with product, ML, and backend teams to deliver seamless, high-performance features
  • Shape design systems, UX patterns, and frontend best practices from the ground up

🧠 Who You Are

  • You've built and shipped complex, stateful applications, not just simple dashboards
  • You care deeply about design, usability, and user experience
  • You communicate clearly, collaborate well, and value humility and curiosity
  • You're excited by mission-driven work and want to solve hard, meaningful problems
  • Bonus: Experience working on collaborative tools, design systems, or scientific/technical interfaces

🔧 Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript
  • Backend: Python, modern APIs
  • Infra: Cloud-native, modern dev tooling
  • ML: Models trained on live client data for real-time prediction of properties

🌍 Why Join?

  • Real-world impact – Help reduce the cost, time, and failure rate of drug discovery
  • True product ownership – Drive decisions, not just tickets
  • Design-first culture – Building something scientists love to use, not tolerate
  • World-class team – Engineers from Google, Palantir, Meta
  • Mission + Momentum – 15+ paying customers, live ML integrations, product-market fit, and strong revenue signals
