Upper Great Lakes is seeking a Front Office Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our Lake Linden Clinic. Responsibilities include welcoming patients and providing excellent customer service at check-in and check-out. Registering and pre-registering patients, verifying insurance coverage, scanning insurance cards, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient and income data. Collecting co-pays, calculating patient responsibility, and meeting clinic collection goals. Scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling patient appointments; performing reminder and outreach calls. Maintaining and scanning clinic documents; distributing incoming mail and faxes. Acting as a backup for the call center and contributing to a smooth patient experience.
Education, training, and qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across diverse populations. Must demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional skills include demonstrating professionalism in all communications and team interactions. Participating in team huddles and meetings to support continuous improvement. Understanding the importance of documentation, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
