Job Description
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Maintain a safe work environment for employees and enforce safety policies and safe behaviors.
- Plan, organize and coordinate work of mechanics on crew.
- Interface routinely with Production, Production Control, Planning and Facilities in order to provide daily material/heavy equipment support throughout the Shipyard.
- Work with all shifts/facilities to provide an accurate daily trailer report/pass down
- Effectively communicate and maintain a productive working relationship with the Hourly Team, Salaried Team, and Union Representatives.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to employees under your charge.
- Use Work Force Management (WFM) to verify employee time cards.
Required/Preferred Education/Training
High School Diploma or GED required.
Required/Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of heavy equipment experience (Class A CDL, Forklift, Loader, Lull, etc.) required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite) required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
