Job Overview
ASRC Federal offers a Front-end Software Development opportunity supporting a new weather program at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This is a Full-time, on-site position at the William J. Hughes Technical Center.
Residency Requirement: Permanent Residency (with 3 years residing in the US) or US Citizenship is required for the FAA Public Trust/background investigation.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in software requirements analysis, design, reviews, development, testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems.
- Perform software programming in languages such as C, C++, Java, SQL, and Assembly, used for NAS and NAS support systems.
- Interface databases with client-side interfaces.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a related technical field with at least 30 semester hours in mathematics, statistics, and computer science. Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field.
Skills
- Familiar with: Javascript, HTML, CSS, Angular Framework, Node.js, UNIX/Linux (RHEL), DevSecOps practices, Docker, GitLab, OpenShift, JMS, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Selenium, API Integration.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, research, and problem solve.
Daily Job Duties
- Provide 2nd level engineering support.
- Support software development, testing, integration, and troubleshooting for weather systems.
- Review and comment on system engineering and requirement documents, testing documents, and training materials.
- Participate in system design reviews and technical meetings.
- Understand systems, databases, networking, computing environments, and virtualization.
- Produce efficient, high-quality code based on requirements.
- Support software applications in Linux environments.
- Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve existing software.
- Provide end-user support remotely via the helpdesk.
- This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule and occasional non-standard hours.
