Job Description: Mid Florida Cancer Centers is a comprehensive Hematology & Oncology practice with four locations in Orange City, Deland, Oviedo, and Sanford. Our physicians offer a wide range of services with the goal to provide our patients with the highest quality of care and patient experience.

Front Desk Job Responsibilities:
  • Greets and directs all patients within the practice.
  • Obtaining patient demographic and verifying insurance information at each visit.
  • Collect Co-Pays and any other balances at the time of visit.
  • Obtaining necessary patient information to meet current Federal guidelines and Meaningful Use guidelines for electronic medical records.
  • Making copies of insurance/ID cards to be uploaded into patient charts.
  • Obtaining patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance).
  • Answering incoming calls and routing them as needed.
  • Open/Close office lobby at the start and end of each day.
  • Willing to travel on an as-needed basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of common office computer programs: Word, Excel, and Internet.
  • Electronic Medical Record Systems (EMR)
  • Answering & Routing calls.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and multitask in a busy office.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of patients.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred.
Education/Experience:
  • Minimum High School Diploma.
  • At least 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
