The Role
The Front Desk Agent is often the guests' first contact, first impression, hospitality extraordinaire, thoughtful listener, delightful charmer, and the center of walk-in guests' attention. The Front Desk Agent has all the needed answers to critical questions, is responsible for initial guest satisfaction (and more!), and goes above and beyond for every guest and member.
What You Are
- Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of how busy it is or the time of day.
- Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with team members to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Resolve guest complaints to their utmost satisfaction.
- Follow hotel policies regarding lost and found items.
- Adhere to hotel requirements for guest and team member safety, including accidents, injuries, and emergency situations.
- Promote sanitation, safety, and security efforts continuously.
- Encourage social media reviews or 5-star ratings on OTAs.
- Ensure the security of guest room access.
- Maintain effective communication with guests, team members, managers, housekeeping, and other departments within the hotel.
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests via phone promptly, friendly, and efficiently.
- Assist in booking room reservations, answering hotel phone calls, and notifying guests of messages.
- Monitor guest mail and ensure proper processing.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel features, services, hours, room types, rates, layout, decor, packages, promotions, daily counts, arrivals, departures, and departmental policies.
- Ensure current information on rates, packages, and promotions is available at the front desk.
- Monitor check-in/check-out processes; assist to alleviate pressure and process guests expediently.
- Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features, room types, rates, promotions, house count, arrivals/departures, group activities, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality, security, and integrity of organizational data.
- Inspect, plan, and ensure all materials and equipment are ready for service.
- Maintain knowledge of proper equipment use and maintenance.
- Comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
- Access all functions of computer/software systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a valid work permit.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Positive customer-first attitude.
- Proactive problem-solving and process improvement skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
Compensation
For US-based applicants: $19.50/hour
