Front Desk Agent Overnight - Georgia Staffing : Job Details

Do you see yourself in the role of a full Front Desk Agent Overnight at IHG Army Hotels Hunter Army Airfield? This role has the overall responsibility to assist in operating the front desk function for a Front Desk Agent Overnight/Night Auditor at our Hunter Army Airfield, GA location. This person will be the regular Full-Time Overnight agent, at least five nights per week and will fill in for extra days or vacation as needed. Night Audit shifts are 11pm-7am. Once trained, this person will be expected to work alone. Must have one year hotel front desk experience to qualify. We do this by providing convenient, reasonably priced hotels on 40 installations across the nation- many featuring brand-name hotels previously only offered off post.

Key job duties and responsibilities for the Front Desk Agent Overnight include:

• Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner.
• Register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location.
• Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures including but not limited to posting all charges, completing cashier and other reports, preparing deposit, and counting/securing assigned bank.
• Complete and transmit daily accounting reports, review all data, and prepare consolidated Adobe reports for approval by hotel management.
• Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up.
• Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Make appropriate service recovery gestures in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, plus one year hotel front desk experience. Experience with Opera PMS preferred but not required. Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite programs, such as Excel, and Acrobat Adobe Pro. Some accounting experience preferred. Some college preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred. Must be self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision. This job requires ability to perform the following:

• Schedule flexibility based on business demand
• Due to access restrictions on the military installation, you must have your own reliable vehicle to get to and from the hotel. There is currently no public transportation or ride share access to this location. It is several miles walk from the night gate to the hotel.
• Frequently standing up behind the desk and front office areas
• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Handling objects, products and computer equipment
• Use a keyboard to operate various property management and reservations systems, etc.
• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often.
• Basic math skills are used frequently.
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating and training abilities are often used.
• Required to work some overnight shifts
• Ability to work all shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.

This property is located on a US Military Installation. Successful completion of a federal background check, conducted by the Installation Visitor's Center, will be required to access the Installation. This is necessary in order to come to the hotel for an interview for this position. If hired, this background check will be required to be renewed annually at minimum. DOD sponsored ID holders are not subject to this process.
