Division of Transportation Planning & Management (TPM)TPM ensures the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible movement of people and goods. Its Freight Mobility Unit advances infrastructure projects, programs, and policies to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability of goods movement, maintaining the city's livability.
Position: Freight AnalystReporting to the Program Lead for Policy and Planning, the Freight Analyst will analyze freight transportation data, support planning studies, develop models, and collaborate with stakeholders to inform policy and program development. Key responsibilities include:
For Assignment Level I: A master's degree in physical, biological, environmental sciences, or public health from an accredited institution. For Level II and above: a doctorate with relevant experience, or a master's with three years of research experience, or equivalent education and experience. All candidates must have at least a master's degree and two years of relevant experience. A minimum one-year probationary period applies.
Preferred SkillsExperience in research and data analysis, proficiency with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, data visualization, and data management systems (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Power BI). Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and in teams are essential.
