Job Description

Fox News Media is hiring a freelance Associate Producer to support Fox News Channel's daytime shows. This role offers exposure to every facet of news in a fast-paced environment. The Freelance Associate Producer will write compelling, conversational copy on various news topics, requiring exceptional script writing skills, impeccable grammar, and strong news judgment. Knowledge of current events and politics is essential, along with the ability to work well under deadline pressure. This position can serve as a stepping stone to a lasting career in cable news.

Shift Schedule

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM ET - 4:00 PM ET

Saturday: 6:30 AM ET - 12:00 PM ET

Sunday: 7:00 AM ET - 12:00 PM ET

Responsibilities

• Research and craft stories that resonate with viewers
• Write compelling scripts and banners under deadline pressure
• Coordinate video and graphics elements for stories
• Stay updated with editorial changes and communicate quickly
• Pitch story ideas

Minimum Requirements

• 2 years of news production experience on a national level
• Exceptional script writing skills, news judgment, and grammar
• Strong understanding of politics and current events
• Experience in control room and breaking news environments
• Knowledge of iNews, VIZ, and desktop editing preferred
• Team-player attitude with ability to meet deadlines and react swiftly to news
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to pay disclosure laws, the pay range is $30.00-$36.05 per hour, dependent on education, skills, experience, and location. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and others as per plan.
