Company Description

We are partnering with an innovative and fast-growing AI healthcare startup that's building cutting-edge agentic automation tools to streamline revenue cycle operations for home health providers. Their mission is to reduce the administrative load in healthcare by automating workflows like prior authorization, eligibility checks, and benefit verification—freeing up providers to focus on patient care.

This venture-backed company was founded in 2025 and is headquartered in New York City. The team includes top-tier engineering, healthcare, and operations talent from institutions like Stanford, Harvard, MIT, and elite consulting and tech backgrounds (ex-MBB, ex-quants, ex-founders). With a current team of ~20, they are aggressively scaling and looking for top-tier talent to join their mission.

What You Will Do

As the Founding Product Engineer (Domain Lead), you will play a key role in architecting and delivering high-impact solutions that directly integrate with providers' healthcare systems. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, clinicians, and business leadership to shape product direction and drive early-stage development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development of backend systems and distributed services that support automation in healthcare ops.

  • Working closely with customers to understand user needs, shadow workflows, and gather actionable feedback.

  • Spearheading technical design and ensuring infrastructure robustness, scalability, and compliance with healthcare privacy and audit standards.

  • Driving product development from concept through deployment in areas such as voice scribing, medical coding, or AR/billing.

  • Contributing to the company's engineering culture of high-velocity iteration, technical excellence, and scrappy collaboration.

Ideal Candidate Background
  • 2+ years of product engineering experience with end-to-end ownership in healthcare product development.

  • Hands-on experience building products in at least one of these domains: voice scribe, medical coding, or accounts receivable/billing.

  • Proven ability to build tools for healthcare providers (not just general health tech for consumers).

  • Experience working in early-stage startups and contributing to 0–1 product development.

  • Strong backend engineering skills across APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems.

  • History of working in hybrid/in-person roles or a strong preference for in-office collaboration in NYC.

Preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, EE, or a related technical field from a top-tier university.

  • Experience integrating with EMRs and healthcare APIs, with a deep understanding of compliance and privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA).

  • Track record of building products with clear KPIs, OKRs, and measurable impact.

  • Comfort navigating the startup pace and ambiguity with a mindset of continuous iteration.

  • Previous roles at companies like Fathom, Nym, DeepScribe, SukiAI, Candid Health, or similar.

Compensation, Benefits & More
  • Salary: $180,000 – $230,000

  • Placement Reward Range (via agency): Up to $122,550

  • Equity opportunities (typical of early-stage startups)

  • Be part of a high-caliber founding team at a fast-growing company

  • Work on meaningful problems that improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare delivery

  • A hybrid team environment that values autonomy, execution, and impact
