We are looking for aFoster Care Licensing/Recruiter Coordinator for our Cape Coral location.

This position requires a Child Welfare Certification through the Florida Certification Board.

Position Summary

The Foster Parent Licensing and Recruiter Coordinator works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the families being served by the National Youth Advocate Program by working closely with the youth and family to provide advocacy and support.This position provides the opportunity to grow the NYAP network of foster parents through recruitment, training, licensing and placement activities. The Foster ParentRecruiter/Trainer is a passionate advocate for youth in foster care as well as a skilled communicator of the need for foster families to open their homes to these youth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited school in communication and/or human services.
  • Child Welfare Certification through the Florida Certification Board required
  • Travel throughout Lee County and surrounding area.
  • 2 years of experience in the area of youth services, preferably with direct experience in foster care recruitment and training.
  • Knowledgeable of foster care rules and the services and experience working with youth in out-of-home care.
  • Must have the ability to speak publicly regarding the mission of the National Youth Advocate Program and most specifically the Foster Care program.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours.
  • Must have a good driving record and maintain 100,000/300,000 Bodily Injury Liability car insurance as required.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

OTHER SKILLS

  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal customers.
  • Capacity to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
  • Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Suites.
