Job Function: Under supervision of the Facility Manager the Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift and/or travel lift and performing general equipment maintenance and yard work. Essential Functions:
- Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical failures in various marina equipment (i.e. forklift, travel lift and minor boat repairs).
- Always observes standard operating procedures and safely operates forklift and travel lift.
- Loads and unloads boats from the forklift.
- Assists vessels on and off the fuel dock, dispenses fuel, and ties up boats.
- Reconciles gas receipts and performs daily gas stick readings.
- Responsible for power washing, scraping boat bottoms and blocking boats for long-term storage.
- Performs routine marina maintenance to include light landscaping, trash pick-up and cleaning restrooms.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Requirements Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of heavy equipment operation experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Incumbent must have excellent communication skills, possess superior guest service skills, have a strong work ethic, and take initiative. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and be able to perform manual tasks for extended periods of time in all weather conditions. Must have the ability to judge distances well, have good co-ordination, and the ability to concentrate for extended periods of time. Salary Description Starting at $20/hr
