Fork Lift Operators - APS : Job Details

Automation Personnel Services is looking for hard-working Forklift Operators in the Baton Rouge, LA area. Forklift operators are primarily responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials and products within a warehouse or other industrial setting, using forklifts.

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Schedule & Hours: Monday-Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Receives incoming shipments, checking the packing slip with shipment for completeness and accuracy before placement in the appropriate warehouse location

Notifies appropriate personnel of receipt of all special orders

Loads and unloads trucks

May operate a forklift to move materials and unload vehicles

Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area

Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.

Other related duties as assigned

• Drives sit-down and stand-up forklifts, and other industrial vehicles such as cherry-pickers and automated pallet jacks as needed.
• Moves hazardous materials. Maintains clean work area.
• Ensures the safe and efficient movement of goods.
• Follows safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Checks that loads are centered and properly stacked.
• Determines when repairs need to be made on equipment.
• Rotates stock so that oldest items are shipped or sold first.
• Loads and unloads product from and onto tractor trailers, rail cars, and cargo ships.
