Department: Food Service Reports to: Food Service Director $15.40 per hour Summary:
- To assist in preparation of food, serving of food, and cleanup of facilities in the Food Service Department
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks.
- Washing dishes and related activities.
- Dumping garbage.
- General cleaning.
- Organization of serving area.
- Restocking shelves.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in related field preferred.
- Must be able to read and understand the English language.
- On the job training is provided.
Performance Criteria:
- Carries out all job duties following established Corvallis School District policies, procedures, and practices consistent with the mission and philosophy of the school.
- Responsible for promoting a safe work culture. Performs all tasks in a proper and safe manner following established policies, general safety rules, and safe operating procedures.
- Demonstrates an attitude of collaboration, cooperation and collegiality by the use of excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills in a spirit of team play in order to assure high quality outcomes for all students, staff, and community members.
- Attends and participates in departmental and district studies and projects, workshops, seminars, etc.
- Assists in serving meals and snacks which are palatable and appetizing with proper serving size and at proper temperatures.
- Follows planned menu, standardized recipes, with specialized diet orders. Able to prepare correct substitutions in accordance with regulations.
- Maintains a clean work environment at all times in accordance with State and Federal standards.
- Assists students and staff in a helpful and courteous manner.
- Completes all work assignments prior to the end of shift.
- Willingly assumes other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director
Equipment Used to Perform Job:
- Dish machine, garbage disposal, knives, can opener, oven, microwave, carts, and other equipment as needed.
Critical Physical Demands:
- Ability to remain on one's feet for 100% of the 3 to 8 hour working shift.
- Grasping for 100% of shift.
- Ability to reach above shoulder level many times per shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
