Responsibilities

The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for ensuring high standards in food quality, safety, and customer service in our food service program. This includes adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as HCSG policies.

  • Lead and empower the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Oversee accurate record-keeping related to income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
  • Conduct staff training and quality control, and step in as needed for dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher roles.
  • Effectively communicate directives from client managers and building administrators to HCSG staff.
  • Ensure the use of protective gear, proper handling of cleaning solutions, and prompt reporting of equipment needs.
  • Follow best practices for infection control and sanitation.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Promote a positive image of HCSG through courteous interactions with all stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification is required.
  • An Associate's degree or higher in food service management or related coursework is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in food service management and personnel supervision is preferred.
  • Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) certification within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications in the first 60 days.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • A positive attitude and strong communication with residents and staff are crucial.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies is required.
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds, as well as stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks consistently.
  • Must be able to work with food and cleaning products safely.
  • Basic computer skills for record maintenance and report completion are required.
  • Residency within the service area is necessary.
