Job Type Part-time Description Job Title: Seasonal Food Service AssociateLocation: The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens - Palm Desert, CA Department: Food & Beverage Reports To: Food Services Supervisor & Operations Manager Job Summary: The Seasonal Food Service Associate plays a vital role in delivering a positive guest experience by preparing and serving food and beverages in a clean, friendly, and efficient manner. This seasonal position supports the zoo's mission by ensuring guests enjoy high-quality service and experience during their visit. Key Responsibilities: •Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service. •Prepare and serve food and beverages according to safety and quality standards. •Operate point-of-sale systems and handle transactions accurately. •Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food prep areas, dining spaces, and equipment. •Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels. •Follow all food safety and health regulations. •Assist with setup and breakdown of food service stations and dining rooms. •Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations. •Uphold The Living Desert's mission of desert conservation through preservation, education, & awareness. Requirements Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous food service or retail experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to operate a POS System & register.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 40 lbs.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must have a current Food Handlers Permit & RBS Certification
