Key Responsibilities

As a Food Production Supervisor for dnata Catering, you will oversee the efficient and high-quality production of food items for airline passengers. Your main role will be to manage and lead a team of production staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, in executing food preparation, cooking, and packaging processes. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure all meals meet recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards. Additionally, you will monitor and maintain the highest levels of food safety and hygiene, following industry regulations and guidelines. Your expertise in production planning, inventory management, and kitchen operations will be essential in optimizing workflow, reducing waste, and maximizing productivity. You will collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and materials. Your strong organizational and problem-solving skills will be crucial in addressing operational challenges and ensuring smooth operations. By maintaining high quality control and efficiency, you will contribute to the success and reputation of dnata Catering.

You WillESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and motivate the AM or PM food production team.
  • Safeguard on time performance.
  • Develop and streamline processes for accessibility, availability, cost, quality, and production assurance.
  • Guarantee systems for optimal productivity.
  • Attend food tasting sessions as required.
  • Adhere to food safety compliance, HACCP regulations, Medina, FDA, and dnata's internal rules.
  • Manage day-to-day food production Supervisors and assembly room staff.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure food cost goals and on-time delivery.
  • Plan work to ensure on-time finished product delivery.
  • Manage multiple priorities and meet short deadlines.
  • Calculate labor standards based on flight schedules and meal volumes.
  • Stay within budgeted labor goals.
  • Identify problematic areas and suggest solutions to management.
  • Present solutions to Supervisors, Department Heads, and Management.
  • Note: Employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold (35-40°F).
Nonessential functions:
  • Other duties as assigned.

The salary range is $69,000-$77,000 annually with weekly pay, excluding incentives. Final pay considers location, experience, and qualifications.

You Have
  • Associate degree or equivalent, or 5+ years related experience, preferably in complex food production like airline catering.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret safety and operational documents.
  • Proficient culinary knowledge is a plus.
  • HACCP and food safety standards knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Demands
  • Multi-tasking under time limits, attention to detail, and punctuality are required.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 30 pounds, and operate safely in a cold environment.
Work Environment

Primarily indoors, with noise levels from minimal to loud. Exposure to cold (35-40°F) is common.
