Food Pantry Assistant, Part-time - Diocese of Venice : Job Details

Title: Food Pantry Assistant, Part-time (25 hrs./wk.) Reports to: Program Manager and/or Director Location: Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice, Inc. | Immokalee, FL 211 South 9th St., Immokalee FL 34142 Classification: Hourly/NonExempt Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. provides services to people of all races, backgrounds and beliefs. We offer a variety of housing and social service programs to individuals, families and communities across ten counties in Southwest Florida. The Food Pantry Assistant shall provide a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient space within the Guadalupe Social Services food pantry. Job Responsibilities:

• Stocking, and maintaining food pantry items
• Oversee and manage volunteers in the food pantry
• Greet clients with courtesy and respect
• Prepare food bags for client distribution
• Research and provide nutritional information/recipes each month to clients
• Assist with the holiday food distributions
• Receive, unload and stock food donations and purchases
• Recycle and/or disposal of boxes and containers
• Coordinate and assist with home deliveries of food bags
• Assist with pick-up of food and other donations
• Responsible for building and grounds maintenance
• Assume responsibility of pick-ups/drop off of food donations in absence of the food pantry manager
• Works harmoniously with staff, supervisors, volunteers, community partners and the public to ensure that GSS provides high quality social services to the Immokalee community
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience in food handling and maintenance.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English.
• Must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets our vehicle insurance standards.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift at a minimum 40 pounds or more.
• Must be willing to work indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
