Job Title: Flock Specialist Job Type: Full-time Job Summary As a Flock Specialist, you will ensure the health and conditions of the chickens, maintaining the highest standards of ethical treatment. You will also be responsible for maintaining the equipment and facilities of the barn, contributing to the organization's goals of quality and ethical production. Essential Job Functions
- Ensure the fair and ethical treatment of livestock, following USDA, FDA, and other relevant standards.
- Remove daily mortality from all cages.
- Fix egg jams by walking up and down rows.
- Replace burnt-out light bulbs.
- Clean water and feed areas in barns.
- Clean egg transfers and blow off egg collectors.
- Sweep walkways and shovel pits.
- Blow down barns.
- Catch loose birds.
- Review and analyze production records with management.
- Perform general maintenance of the hen house and systems.
- Assist with pest control initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Work Environment The role involves working in various climate conditions, requiring physical activities such as reaching, bending, twisting, and lifting above the head. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
