Join a venture-backed space startup building software for the next generation of satellite systems.We're looking for a Principal Flight Software Engineer to take full ownership of the flight software stack — from the first line of code to defining tooling, architecture, and build processes. This is your chance to be the first dedicated software hire, building something from scratch in a high-velocity, high-impact environment.Why Join?You'll be shaping the software and the team from day one, with backing from a leadership group that includes engineers from Ad Astra and other major players in the new space sector. The company is gearing up for a funding round close this December and will be scaling rapidly from there.What You'll Do:

• Architect and develop the end-to-end flight software stack for orbital missions
• Establish development tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and software QA processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally with avionics, systems, and hardware teams
• Contribute to mission design and testing – including first-flight readiness
• Mentor future software hires as the team scales post-funding

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience launching flight software systems for LEO satellites
• Hands-on contributor with a strong track record of building from zero
• Solid understanding of orbital mechanics, real-time systems, and embedded C/C++
• Comfortable in fast-paced, messy R&D environments
• Must be able to work onsite 5 days/week in Denver
