** Job Description**

**About the Position**

As a Fleet Service Operations Manager at First, you will oversee the daily operations and overall work performance to ensure employees observe work rules and safety practices in our shop servicing NY Parks & Recreations fleet. Other job duties as Fleet Service Operations Manager will include:

* Supervise maintenance staff and assist with staffing decisions.

* Provide guidance to maintenance staff to optimize work productivity and safety.

* Support activities including planning, monitoring, and analyzing maintenance requirements.

* Work with customer to meet and exceed needs of the Parks Department.

* Prepare reports and estimates for the General Manager and the customer.

* Serve as the General Managers replacement in his/her absence.

**Qualifications** **for a Fleet Service Operations Manager:**

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* 4+ years of management or supervisory experience in large fleet maintenance setting.

* Advanced technical knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment repairs and maintenance.

* Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.

* Excellent communication skills.

* Demonstrated abilities to build and continuously motivate highly effective teams.
