Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine servicing and repairs under supervision on various equipment, adhering to manufacturer guidelines as well as company schedules. More complex tasks may be assigned with oversight.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues visually or using diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of time, materials, equipment conditions, and repair activities.
  • Utilize software for tracking repair orders and timesheets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform safety inspections and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations including DOT, EPA, OSHA, and others as required.
  • Engage in training programs and stay updated on safety procedures and hazardous materials requirements.
  • Display regular and predictable attendance.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned, which may be performed at either office or field locations.
  • Adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other professional standards.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years' experience in heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair, or completion of a vocational/technical program or apprenticeship with two years' experience can also qualify.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment. A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Abilities

  • Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential.
  • Effective teamwork skills to collaborate smoothly with colleagues.
  • Strong communication abilities for conversing with team members, interpreting orders, and documenting work accurately.
  • Basic computer skills including data entry.
  • Experience with mechanical tools, materials, and testing equipment.
  • Understanding of the operation, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  • A commitment to following safety rules and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and squatting to conduct repairs and inspections.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
  • Willingness to work in various environments including indoors in a shared work area and outdoors in potentially inclement weather.
  • Exposure to physical hazards, including moving machinery and vehicles.
  • Ability to work with vibrations from machinery.

With guidance from the supervisor, and upon demonstrating the necessary skills, you may have the opportunity to advance to a higher-level classification based on availability.
