Fixed Income Product Manager and Trader - New York

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a versatile team player to join us as an AVP, Product Manager, and Trader. This role involves analyzing portfolios and executing credit-related orders in adherence to trading procedures and portfolio guidelines.

Essential Duties/Functions:

  • Analyze portfolios and provide guidance to portfolio managers based on guidelines, client needs, and risk-reward considerations.
  • Engage in value-added discussions and offer solutions such as index analysis, spread trend monitoring, relative value assessments, trade ideas, handling complex trading situations, and evaluating alternative investments/comparable securities.
  • Execute credit-related orders generated by portfolio managers while ensuring compliance with trading procedures and portfolio guidelines.
  • Cultivate relationships with the broker/dealer community to obtain competitive bids and offers, enhance new issue allocations, gather market intelligence, and serve as a primary contact for the platform.
  • Participate in internal meetings with Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts to contribute to the investment decision-making process.
  • Enhance execution efficiency and assist in developing automated solutions for desk processes and order flow.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a finance-related field; MBA and/or CFA designation preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in credit areas, fixed income, and fund investing, with a solid understanding of the broader financial landscape; trading experience is desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software and advanced Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg and related automated trading tools (particularly marketAxess).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of thriving in a highly collaborative global team environment.
  • Flexible team player with an ability to adapt to change.
