Position SummaryAs the Financial Specialist - Senior, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining the general inventory database and financial accounting aspects of the Stores inventory at WMHI and Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC). Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the inventory systems computer database and its reconciliation to the States General Ledger including maintain inventory for the Therapeutic Services (TS) Storeroom.
- Maintaining and reconciling assets and minor equipment.
- Performing forms ordering, generating reports, auditing purchase cards (p-cards) and working with the Financial Program Supervisor and Accounts Payable (AP) staff in the Business Office.
Salary InformationThe starting pay is $25.32 per hour (approximately $52,600 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 02/13.
Job DetailsAll applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the facility or medical personnel directed by the facility prior to their start date. DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
QualificationsMinimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience providing customer service (e.g. gathering information, answering questions, resolving customer complaints/conflict, etc.) using various communication methods (e.g., verbal, phone, email, etc.) in working with internal and external partners.
- Experience performing financial duties (e.g., accounting, budget management, purchasing, etc.).
- Experience providing administrative support (e.g., maintaining databases, maintaining records, etc.).
- Experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.) to create spreadsheets, enter account information in databases, prepare monthly statements and reports, etc.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience working within an institutional stores and inventory operations environment.
- Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (e.g., Peoplesoft, Workday, Jaggaer, etc.) in business operation modules such as financial, inventory or supply chain management.
- Associate degree in a business-related field.
- Experience with State of Wisconsin Accounting and Purchasing policies and procedures.
