The client is a commercial bank that started in Japan. They are the third largest bank in Japan and offer services such as investment banking, global markets, and sales and trading.

Job Description

Compile and submit various financial regulatory reports on a recurring basis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to U.S. accounting standards and regulatory guidelines. Perform reconciliations between general ledger data and reporting outputs, investigating discrepancies and validating key financial data. Monitor updates from regulatory bodies and incorporate changes into reporting processes to maintain compliance. Document and refine procedures related to financial reporting requirements, supporting internal controls and audit readiness. Collaborate with teams across departments to gather necessary data and ensure timely completion of reporting tasks. Provide support to senior team members and contribute to special projects or ad hoc reporting needs as required.

The Successful Applicant

Holds a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with a strong foundation in financial principles and reporting standards. Brings 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably within regulatory reporting, public accounting, or banking environments. Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools, with added value from familiarity with business intelligence platforms like Power BI or Alteryx. Possesses a solid understanding of financial instruments and products, including loans, securities, and derivatives. Shows strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively across teams.
