Bank of Marin, voted by our employees as one of the Best Places to Work in the North Bay Business Journal, is looking for an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to manage our financial planning and analysis processes. The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager is responsible for managing financial planning and analysis processes including the annual budget, variance analysis supporting the month end close, and reporting to management, board and regulatory agencies. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business objectives and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and operational efficiency. They will manage and coordinate activities enabling the Company to evaluate non-standard questions and complex issues using a variety of data sources, applying judgment in establishing assumptions, and building models to apply financial methodologies to decision making. Essential Job Duties: Lead the annual budget process and develop financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads to ensure alignment with company goals. Develop financial modeling and analysis to measure and forecast the impact of various business decisions, economic scenarios, or capital investments. Participate as a key thought leader of the finance team, influencing decision making, identifying bank-wide opportunities, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making. Implements policies and procedures to collect and analyze financial data to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting and interpretation of financial metrics. Develop and execute processes to allow for routine and non-routine analytical reviews of Company financial and operational performance. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budget. Preparation of presentations for the monthly/quarterly board meetings, management meetings and various strategic committees of the company. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial reporting and analysis. Emphasis may occur in certain areas such as investment analysis, asset/liability modeling, liquidity analysis, peer comparisons, risk-based capital, M&A modeling and capital planning, and the use of special function software/tools such as Profitstar, Empyrean, S&P Capital Market IQ and Power BI. Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Oversee/participate in the various financial reporting responsibilities of the finance department. Assist with/participate in the Bank's external and internal audits. Provide training and assistance to new employees and other departments when needed. Additional duties as assigned. Job Skill Level / Additional Requirements: Advanced excel data modeling skills. Advanced organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver quality results under time constraints. Solid ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities. Ability to plan and coordinate projects involving diverse groups. Professional Experience: 5 - 7 years related experience and/or training. Educational Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or MBA (desirable). The hiring pay range for this position is $104,563 - 154,088 In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
