Fastway Couriers is currently recruiting for an experienced and qualified Financial Controller to join their team.

• Creation and updating of SOPs
• Review and validation of rates loaded on FMS
• Review and validation of CDLBS in FMS and RF to RF batching
• Assist with alignment of policies, processes, and procedures across the group
• Testing and implementation of franchise controls
• Primary review of customer billing
• Support with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Ensuring expenses and income are mapped consistently across entities
• Coordinating with external financial, compliance, and tax auditors
• Creating and monitoring company policies and internal controls, especially spending controls, to safeguard company assets and reduce fraud
• Providing financial reporting and analysis to guide decision-making
• Identifying efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business
• Rolling out of any new processes with the financial staff
• Support with payroll processing for the group
• Advising company managers on operations activities based on knowledge of the underlying business
• Assist with group procurement activities
• Additional controller duties as necessary and support with new projects and initiatives

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification (e.g., CA(SA)) is highly advantageous
• Experience with internal controls and financial systems is essential
• Experience working with Sage accounting software is highly desirable
• Prior experience in an audit environment (articles completed at an auditing firm) would be a significant advantage
• Experience developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is beneficial
• Strong financial acumen with a focus on internal controls and systems management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various departments
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in financial software systems, with Sage experience being highly desirable
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
