Job Description :
DescriptionMain Purpose of the Role:
  • Monitor Demurrage & Local Revenue performance to identify risks (financial, operational, regulatory, etc.) and target opportunities (procedural, systematic, etc.) to improve accuracy and overall performance.
  • Benchmark market competitor practices relating to tariff Demurrage & Local Revenue
  • Support the annual Budget process for Demurrage & Local Revenue
  • Mentor and support Revenue Analysts in all related areas of responsibility
Main Tasks:
  • Monitor Demurrage & Local Revenue performance to identify risks (financial, operational, regulatory, etc.) and target opportunities (procedural, systematic, etc.) to improve accuracy and overall performance.
  • Prepare the monthly Demurrage KPI analysis for senior management review
  • Lead departmental efforts to improve automation of Revenue capture.
  • Support the annual Budget process for Demurrage & Local Revenue
  • Mentor Revenue Analysts to foster continuous growth & improvement
  • Run quarterly & ad hoc Benchmark reviews of market competitor Tariff rates and terms for Demurrage & Local Revenue. Compile findings and recommendations for presentation to Senior Management. Lead implementation of resulting management directives.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management
  • Support Revenue Analyst reporting responsibilities
  • Support Revenue Analyst functional responsibilities
  • Maintain (and develop where necessary) Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on all Revenue-related procedures & functions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics AND one to two years related experience training in financial costing and revenue analysis, trend analysis, etc.; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise in at least one shipping industry functional (e.g. Operations, Logistics, Finance, etc.) is preferred.
  • Knowledge and expertise in working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook also required.
  • Prefer Excel experience with Power Query, Data Model, Pivots, and advanced Functions
  • Proven costing/financial analysis skills/experience.
  • Knowledge of SAP FI/CO is preferred.
