POSITION SUMMARY: The Financial Coach is an integrated position that helps customers with resources for training and employment. This includes financial literacy services to participants through both one-on-one financial coaching as well as financial workshops. Financial Coach will establish financial goals with individuals and families, and use the 80/20 coaching rule to support participants as they improve their net income, worth and credit scores. In addition, the Financial Coach will provide a full-service experience by working in a partnership with Career Coaches and other Detroit at Work staff to support jobseekers in navigating and connecting to essential services required to remove barriers. These can include transportation, childcare, housing, legal aid, adult basic education, or expungement supports. The Financial Coach will be become an expert in understanding their Career Centers various partners and the supports they offer, including eligibility and referral process. They will also understand DAW's flexible supportive services policy that can be used for basic customers. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance or related field preferred
- One year of experience working in programs providing services in Social Services/Resource Navigator to at-risk populations
- Two years of experience presenting financial literacy skills preferred
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for day-to-day job performance
