Job Description :

SCO financial coaching program is a client centered model that prioritizes the personal financial goals and objectives of each youth served in the program. The Financial Coach will provide guidance and coaching to youth on how to advocate for themselves and will assist them in taking steps to reach financial stability and empowerment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain an active caseload and work towards achieving targets as outlined in program contracts.
  • Work collaboratively with program staff to establish and achieve financial goals with participants.
  • Facilitate financial coaching and educational workshops on topics such as personal credit, budgeting, saving; and transition attendees into one-on-one meetings.
  • Assess each participants personal needs and develop individual financial action plans to assist youth in achieving their own personal financial goals.
  • Record client information, progress reports and any other relevant data in the FEMS Financial Coaching database.
  • Prepare and submit reports as needed.
  • Remain up to date on related and supportive resources to refer individuals for additional assistance as needed.
  • Adjust approaches and strategies to coaching depending on the needs of the program and individual participants.
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Coordinator and BYC team, including Housing and Peer Navigators, to find ways to cultivate partnerships with the youth and attract more participation to the program.
  • Complete a mandatory financial counselor training certification course upon hire.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years professional experience in finance, financial education, and/or financial planning
  • A minimum of one year experience working with youth preferred
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with a team
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

SALARY:

  • Hourly Pay: $32.96
