  • Tax Operations is seeking an experienced individual to support ***'s Client Service Tax team.
  • This role will present the candidate with challenging opportunities due to the high regulatory risk coupled with high volumes, tight deadlines, and demanding client base.
  • The position requires exceptionally strong organization, process, and people management skills.
  • In addition, this role requires excellent collaboration, execution, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Responsibilities:
  • This individual will be responsible to troubleshoot, research and action all client/stakeholder queries related to documentation, withholding, change in circumstance and reporting.
  • The ideal candidate has prior tax experience and Must be familiar with all aspects of tax operations.
  • The candidate will have extensive interactions with internal stakeholders within various Business Unit Account Managers, all levels of various Branches, Financial Advisors and colleagues outside of Tax Operations (e.g Client Reference Data Ops, Tax Technology, Tax Compliance) and will be expected to collaborate with the team(s), propose and ensure implementation of solutions.
Skills Required:
  • Tax knowledge related to year-end tax reporting for 1099's and 1042-S forms and documentations (W8Ben, W8Bene, W8IMY, W8Exp, W8 ECI and W9)
  • Highly skilled in customer service, ability to work independently
  • Ability to work nights and weekends during the months of Jan to April (tax season) and as needed - Soft skills as they will be on the phones with FA/CSAs
  • Eagerness to learn and ability to analyze issues and escalate High Level Primary Responsibilities which include assisting Financial Advisors via MSSN/PSN calls and Case Management tickets that are sent to Tax Ops-Assist in reviewing Year End Processing, Mass corrections, IRS Files, Reclasses
  • Processing daily reconciliation and adhoc break report reviews
  • Assisting in creating and reviewing audit procedure documentation-Knowledge in IRS Chapter 3 & 4 NRA and FATCA regulations-Knowledge of withholding and reporting
  • Must be familiar with the various types of client account classifications, tax document requirements and associated withholding and reporting requirements
  • Proficiency with Excel and relevant computer programs is required
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Prior experience in the Financial Industry is HIGHLY preferred.
  • Understanding of client service, process controls, with the ability to learn internal systems quickly
  • Superior Communication Skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently well within a team environment
  • Excellent Time Management, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects, and prioritize effectively to meet tight and enforced Operational and annual deadlines for the firm
  • Attention to detail and quality of work
  • Ability to consistently exercise sound and decisive judgment

  • Role is Hybrid and will require in office attendance 3 days/week.
