Financial Analyst - Carilion Clinic : Job Details

Onsite schedule Assists in the coordination of the budget process and preparation of RCM annual operational and capital budgets for review by VP, Director, RCM Manager and Financial Advisor.

• Design, prepare and analyze financial reports to track variances to historical trends and departmental budgets. Isolate significant variances to both historical trends and departmental budgets. Make recommendations for change that will assist in controlling cost or increasing productivity.
• Coordinate multiple computerized data sources to achieve consistency and completeness of financial information. Review documents for accuracy and initiate corrections as needed.
• Possess thorough knowledge and experience using computer spreadsheets, word processing, databases. Design and maintain multi-dimensional database reports for distribution to RCM management and for use by financial advisory staff.
• Evaluate and recommend analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing educational opportunities to Management and staff through financial inservices. Maintains integrity of expenses utilizing thorough invoice approval process.
• Develop and maintain advanced monthly financial reports as requested and distributes to RCM Management Team, Financial Advisory Services and Accounting areas.
• Maintains detailed policies and procedures related to monthly financial reports.
• Possess general knowledge of financial principles and practices as well as a detailed knowledge of general ledger accounting. Coordinate transactions and processes to meet GAAP guidelines

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent 8 yrs. of expereince required. Experience: 1-3 years healthcare finance to augment education if needed. Other: Advanced knowledge of Excel, and other personal computer software.
