Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Financial Analyst to support a bulge bracket, global investment banking client. Based in New York City, this role is focused on internal financial support, data analysis, and process improvement. You'll help interpret financial results, build models, benchmark industry performance, and prepare recurring and ad-hoc deliverables that empower investment bankers and global teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze income statements, balance sheets, consolidated financials, and internal performance reports to support strategic decision-making
  • Interpret financial results to identify trends, compare performance against industry peers and competitors, and extract insights that inform strategic positioning and benchmarking analyses
  • Prepare recurring and ad-hoc deliverables, including Company Profiles, Benchmarking Analyses, Precedent Transactions, Earnings Summaries, and Sector Snapshots
  • Develop, maintain, and audit financial models and reporting templates used for planning, forecasting, and performance tracking
  • Design complex yet elegant Excel spreadsheets that streamline recurring reporting and enable flexible ad-hoc analysis
  • Leverage internal databases and third-party tools to extract, validate, and interpret data with a high degree of accuracy and consistency
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholdersincluding other global offices, the Research team, and bankersto refine methodologies and improve data workflows
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across recurring reporting tasks and analytical frameworks
  • Assist in the creation of management reports and internal briefing materials used to support banker workflows and client engagement
  • Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and internal projects as assigned
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline (strongly preferred)

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or investment banking support
  • Experience supporting or working with bulge bracket investment banks or capital markets teams strongly preferred

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills; able to design, audit, and optimize spreadsheets and templates (strongly preferred)
  • Strong PowerPoint skills; able to create clear, visually polished slides with a sharp eye for formatting, consistency, and detail (strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with financial research tools and platforms (e.g., Capital IQ, FactSet, Eikon, Bloomberg) strongly preferred
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear insights
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
