Job Description: POSITION SUMMARYThis position assists in the compilation of financial reports used by System Administration leadership to make informed decisions on the future strategy for departmental operating budgets and University-wide programs. Collaborates with departmental fiscal representatives on budget development, resource planning, financial reporting and analytical support for financial management of operational resources. Provides comprehensive financial support including expenditure and FTE variance reviews to identify business trends ofdepartment and functional areas. Solely responsible for all cash balance reports.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Compilation of all IFR cash reports (Monthly)
  • Maintenance of Form 1 and operating budget tracking sheets
  • Student Clinical Liability Insurance Program Lead
  • Daily certificate of insurance (COI) approvals
  • Daily claims history reports
  • Adding of new disciplines
  • Act as main point of contact between SUNY campuses, OGS, and insurance broker
  • Annual Clinical Insurance Policy renewal period (4-5 months of year)- Obtain student head counts per discipline from participating campuses, organize data and response to OGS, communicate all updates for COI to campuses, update contracts campus contact list annually, and other erroneous activities that help facilitate the policy.
  • Support campus staff in understanding and use of the database.
  • Direct Campus Charges and Assessments-
  • Works closely with program managers to gather annual budget amounts and ensure proper billing is assessed as well as assist in the semi-annual invoicing process
  • Creates Financial Management System journal uploads for all State-operated colleges
  • Point of contact for campuses to pose questions on the programs and campus re-charges
  • Act as System Administration's primary campus Security Administrator
  • Input of journal transfers for both inter-campus and inter-departmental within System Administration (Allocation, expenditure, and revenue)
  • Responsible for all System Administration Construction Fund accounting activity
  • Participate in year-end close out process as part of the accounting unit
  • Pending encumbrance report (Monthly, Bi-weekly at year-end)
  • Stale Dated Check report (Monthly)
  • Input and reconciliation of PFL, LTD, and TRS invoices (monthly)
  • Pooled Offset Contribution Rate reports (Quarterly)
  • Performs chart of account maintenance for both System Administration, University-wide Program, and Construction Fund accounts
  • Creates and maintains historical reports (SPO Salary recovery, Stabilization, Salary Savings, Overhead)
  • Support System Administration departments with accounting system questions, account balances and erroneous transactions
  • 000Y00 monthly reconciliation process
  • Report Unclaimed funds (Bi-annual)
Requirements: Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in procurement and/or contract processing and management preferred.
  • Experience with SUNY, higher education or government agency preferred.
  • Experience utilizing computer software programs such as Word and Excel required.
Additional Information:
  • Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $56,000-$67,000.

  • This position will be based in Albany.
