Financial Analysis Consultant (Profitability Governance)

Overview:

Conducts advanced financial research and analysis on complex projects independently. Provides advice and options to management for strategic decision-making. Leads innovative solutions in a dynamic environment and stays updated on market trends that impact the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create financial reports, summarize trends, and provide insights to management.
• Perform detailed financial analyses using complex tools to demonstrate scenarios.
• Develop and implement department goals.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of work products, demonstrating strong financial knowledge.
• Improve financial tools and processes independently.
• Understand and analyze the company's financial statements, key drivers, and trends.
• Adhere to risk, regulatory standards, policies, and controls. Escalate risks as needed.
• Support an inclusive environment reflecting the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain internal control standards and support audit and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

May mentor less experienced staff and have indirect supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of experience in accounting, auditing, operations, or financial services; or a total of 11 years combining education and experience with relevant background.

Experience with financial analysis for forecasts and budgets, and enterprise performance measurement frameworks.

Strong understanding of financial concepts related to profitability reporting and persuasion skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree and professional certifications like CPA or CFA.

Broad understanding of finance and accounting within banking.

Compensation:

The pay range is $100,611.94 - $167,686.57 annually, based on experience and skills.
