LHH is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Manager of Finance to join our client's Finance team. This role will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and special projects across the institution. Reporting to the Controller and working closely with the CFO and external consultants, this position will help drive data-informed decisions that support company's mission and long-term sustainability. The anticipated salary for this role is between $120,000-$140,000 a year with an anticipated bonus up to 10%.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models to support forecasting and strategic initiatives.
- Lead the annual budget process in collaboration with department heads and leadership.
- Monitor actuals vs. budget and prepare monthly variance reports for leadership and board reporting.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure financial projections align with operational goals.
- Assist in preparing accurate internal and external financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Controller's team to ensure GAAP-compliant reporting and data integration.
- Support the preparation of custom and ad hoc financial reports for internal and external use.
- Contribute to a smooth annual audit by preparing schedules and reconciliations
- Identify opportunities for operational and reporting efficiencies across financial workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in higher education, nonprofit organizations, or public accounting preferred.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret and present complex data clearly.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage non-financial audiences.
- Proactive, self-directed, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Collaborative mindset with proven success working across diverse teams and departments.
